This recital – Cante Pa’lante – is showcasing a wide range of flamenco song forms.  While not as well-known in the US, flamenco singing – cante flamenco – is the most important aspect of flamenco.  When performing with dancers, singers provide support by singing pa’tras – ‘from behind’.  However, cante Flamenco is best showcased pa’lante – ‘in front’.  This is how it is presented in major Spanish flamenco festivals.   This recital – Cante Pa’lante – is in this tradition, showcasing a wide range of flamenco song forms. It is an opportunity to experience authentic cante flamenco in its entirety. Juan Murube has travelled across multiple continents participating in numerous flamenco projects, and while his preference is traditional flamenco (cante jondo), he also enjoys expressing his art with freedom. His creations and performances bring a particularly rich dimension to flamenco.
Murube's latest album "Cambiático" is available now on all streaming platforms.
